President’s Corner Spring 2008 Wow the winter has gone by fast. Hope you got busy with all of your rocket new and repair projects over the winter. Our first launch is less than 2 months away and it will be here before you know it. First news on the club. We are starting our membership drive now. So if you haven’t renewed please do it now. We have changed our membership struture a bit and are including launch fees as part of the membership dues. So although the dues seem higher they are really not once you include all the costs. If you are wondering how you dues are spent it is very simple. Almost all goes to the cost of running our club launches in the form of landowner rent and toilet facilities. We are starting to plan our biggest event of the year, NYPOWER 13. Nat Kinsey is the NYPOWER 13 Launch Director this year. Working NYPOWER is a blast, if you would like to volunteer please contact Nat at nypower@marsclub.org. NYPOWER 12 is the subject of a feature article in the Feb 2008 issue of Rockets Magazine. Also a excellent NYPOWER12 DVD is now available. The package contains a ~1hour feature on the event, and bonus material including slow motion footage of some notable flights and over 2200 still pictures in slide show format on 2 DVDS. Only $19.95 for the package. A great value. Info on the magazine and DVD can be found at the Rockets Magazine website. Our first launch is May 17 and 18.
