New for NYPOWER 15
Due to aircraft on the ground during NYPOWER new rules will be in place.
- All rocket flights in excess of 1000 ft altitude will require a rail.
- Multistage flights may be restricted depending on wind and ground conditions.
- Air-starts will be restricted and reviewed by the BFR committee.
- Rail angles will be fixed by the Pad Managers. Rocket trackers
(RF, sonic, GPS etc) are highly recommended for moderate altitude HPR
flights.
- You must have the CP location clearly marked on your rocket for the safety inspection.
Waiver restrictions
- If wind speed and direction becomes unfavorable the maximum
altitude may be reduced to 4000' AGL. If this happens, the higher
waiver will be reestablished as soon as conditions on the field allow.
We are working with the HAG to minimize the hazard to the aircraft
on the field. If the number of aircraft on the field during this
weekend is small, then the above restrictions can be relaxed. However
at this time we simply cannot predict what the aircraft situation will
be.
Existing Rules Reminder
NAR Safety code will be in effect.
Carry-in Carry - out: Trash must taken out with you. There will be no onsite disposal bins.
Portable grills cannot be operated during launch operations. Delicious grilled food is provided at reasonable cost onsite by the museum volunteers who give up their weekend to feed us. Please support our hosts who make this event possible. Grills can be operated before and after the day's flying provided they are at least 25' from your motors and energetic materials (NAR safety code).
