New Leadership
As Many of you are aware “Team Jurus” Dennis, Janice and Troy have moved to the sunshine state of Florida, they will be missed but MARS will Continue.
As nature abhors a vacuum, a Pair of Dan’s and Greg Young have stepped up to fill a HUGE VOID!
Dan MacNeal will be taking over for Janice as the MARS Treasurer.
Dan, from Gasport NY is a father of three with a grandson on the way. A Level -2 flyer, he is an avid R/C enthusiast, Scout Master, Ham radio operator, he enjoys building custom electronics, camping, fishing, woodworking and as this photo shows is a very creative and skilled modeler. Dan has 30 years of experience in accounting and non-profit work with the Buffalo Urban league and other health related non-profits dedicated to helping others. Currently Dan is the CFO Frank’s Basement systems.

Dan Michael, will be taking over as leader of the MARS Certification Team
Dan is known for flying some HUGE Rockets, he is the person who coined the phrase “BFR”!
Dan has written a few articles for Sport Rocketry, Extreme Rocketry and Rockets Magazine, he has also done seminars on rocket recovery system at NARCONN. Dan’s on field experience includes being the roving RSO and BFR manager at LDRS31, LDRS34 and the first 2 events created by MaryBeth at a neighboring club. Dan is fairly easy to find as he is the East Coast service and promotional representative for Aerotech and is usually wearing Aerotech apparel. Dan is NAR L3CC, which means he can Certify flyers all the way to Level 3.

MARS-VP Gregory Young, will be our new Tripoli Prefect
Greg Young is a loooong time MARS member, a lot longer than he would like to admit.. Greg is a NAR trained Safety Officer, MARS RSO, Tripoli Prefect and his time as a pilot made him the perfect man to hold MARS FAA Waiver. At most launches you will find Greg up front wearing his orange RSO safety vest. Greg has been on the planning committee’s for many event launches including LDRS-31, LDRS-34, NSL-2018, NARAM-62* and the last 4 NYPOWER.1
