FREE ROCKETS for Kids

NYPOWER is hosted by MARS (Monroe Astronautical Rocket Society) in partnership with SRC (Syracuse Rocket Club).

At NYPOWER all kids (under 18 years of age) fly low-power rockets for FREE.

What? You didn’t bring a rocket with you?
Well then be sure to visit the Syracuse Rocket Club tent located right on the flight line.
SRC members have FREE rockets that they have built especially for you!

Pick out your favorite rocket, then a volunteer from SRC will guide you in preparing your rocket for flight, take you to the launch pad and help you load it for launch, and if you are very lucky (and the Launch Control Officer is not too busy) you may be able to countdown and push the button to launch your very own first rocket. And you can take it home with you for the next lunch!

If you want to launch again, there are vendors on the field where you can buy additional rocket motors or even another rocket. And Aerotech Rocketry is offering a NYPOWER special for Starter Kits that even includes your own launch pad.
