Report of Officers:
Treasurer: Evan Brown gave the treasures report that the club is in good standing
President: Need logo Ideas for NyPower have had 2 ideas summited by Evan Brown. One was don’t shred on me but have to say no to that on because its too political. Asking for more ideas and need them soon. Need someone to do an outreach in Allegany County. It is for a boy scout jamboree and will be doing low power launch of about 40 scouts. Brett Carrier said he is willing to put that outreach on. No one else has asked about outreach asked Evan Brown about outreach at the museum, Evan stated that has called and left messages but they have not gotten back with him. Mary Beth said that she will be doing the outreach at the airshow again this year. Mary Beth said she wants to try and get the tower setup at the booth to help pull people in to ask questions and get the interested. Marybeth talking with Moog and Donna Walker about the launch dates. We want to have the launch date earlier in the year due to the weather so late in October. Marybeth and Donna gave the 15 possible dates between April and October. Dennis Jurus has been approved to be a L3CC and is our only one in our club.
NYPOWER:
Marybeth asked Tom MaCarthy to reach out to the food vendors to see if they are willing to commit to NyPower. Marybeth was thinking of charging $35 for non members and 30 for members.
Equipment:
MARS has $250 from NAR to spend for equipment. Evan Brown suggested that we look into getting a new sector box for the Wilson system. Bill Clune will get the price and summit to the board. MARS is still looking for a motor vendor.
Show and Tell:
Evan Brown: Golden Sun Drop his high altitude two stage scratch built rocket about six feet tall and the booster will have CTI K500 and the sustainer CTI J150 long burn. The booster will split about 7,000 feet and apogee will be about 38 to 39,000 feet. He is looking to fly at LDRS this year.
MaryBeth: Brought an oops project her and Bill went to Portville School Tech department for community night. They have rooms filled with laser engravers and 3D printers CNC wood carvers. She wanted to do a Saturn V magazine holder but instead of etching the laser engraver was cutting and cut out the Saturn V rocket.
Bill Wojtyla: Brought and Estes Saturn V kit he bought it from AC Supplies
Build Session:
Build session is scheduled for February 23 at the National War Plain Museum
