As you know MARS Club is the oldest continuously active NAR Section and is most likely the oldest rocket club in the world. As of March 1st we are now the new kids on the block, the youngest Tripoli Prefecture #162, “Tripoli of WNY”. Dennis Jurrus will be our “Prefect” and Greg Young the prefecture “Secretary”.

What does this mean for you, our members? unless you want to fly Research motors… not much! You don’t need to join another national organization, NAR is fine. MARS will always be an NAR Section, and still participate in NAR activities!

• You will notice the launch pads will be a bit farther out in the field (probably a good thing anyway)
• We will still have monthly launches, we should see a few more “High Power” flights.
• Kids will always fly for free and the bucket of rockets will still be there for them.
• We will still host the MOOG TARC launch
• NYPOWER will probably be a bit larger.
