Normally we have a monthly launch report but with Covid really hampering all of our activities we will most likely have a summery at years end! By Mike Pleban This weekend we had a great flying weather with plenty of sun and of course some wind, as always. There were brief bouts with some rain early evening Saturday and a brief shower Sunday morning. Saturday evening we had our potluck dinner with a lot of delicious dishes. On Saturday August 18, The weather was cloudy with a decent wind going. Sunday was better with partial cloudy skies and less wind. We also had a visiting boy scout troop 667. They learned how to prep their rockets. They were shown how to pack the wadding, chutes or streamers, and how to prep the engines. them they were guided through field safety and how to fill out there flight cards. On Saturday setup was done in the morning. We had cloudy conditions and lots of wind. We still had plenty of launches even with the winds. We did shut the range down around 3:30 on Saturday due to wind gust over 20 mph.Sunday was totally different, we had plenty of sun and almost no wind at all.There was One level 2 Cert. WE had a couple great days for flying. There was a decent turn out for this weekend. More people than I was expecting. Saturday was high clouds and little or no wind, we were flying almost straight up and down all day. Sunday started out the same as Saturday,high clouds and little wind., but around 11 or 11:30 the sun came out and the wind picked up. The September launch was perfect weather for flying. Plenty of sun and little to no wind. WE had a level 1 cert flight by Zoe Jerusha Beepat, she showed up with a group from RIT. Zoe flew a rocket called Reverse Flash on a AT h238. Congrats on your certification. Also Chris Conley attemted his level 2 cert. We had some nice weather on Saturday and Sunday or the launch. Clouds and Sun for Saturday with some winds. And mostly sunny on Sunday it some winds. The clean up crew was spectacular and the trailer is pack well. we had two cert flights weekend, Owen Torres achieved his level 1 with a rocket called BOB. His flight was on a H110 cti.
