MARS has an excellent grass field in Geneseo, New York. We fly high power rockets (HPR) and low power rockets (LPR). Our field has hosted LDRS, the National Sport Launch (NSL), and will host NARAM in 2020. We recognize National Association of Rocketry (NAR), Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA) and Canadian Association of Rocketry (CAR) high power certifications.

Monroe Astronautical Rocket Society - MARS Club Posted on November 2, 2020 by MARS ClubJune 25, 2021

Normally we have a monthly launch report but with Covid really hampering all of our activities we will most likely have a summery at years end! Hopefully 2021 will return us all to normal and we can host NARAM-62 with an * at the end…. As Promised the 2020 Launch Summary Thanks to Mike Pleban for compiling the data. October 2019 (Fall Finale) Launch Report

Monroe Astronautical Rocket Society - MARS Club Posted on October 18, 2019 by MARS ClubDecember 18, 2019

By Mike Pleban This weekend we had a great flying weather with plenty of sun and of course some wind, as always. There were brief bouts with some rain early evening Saturday and a brief shower Sunday morning. Saturday evening we had our potluck dinner with a lot of delicious dishes. There were lots of good flights, and some disappointing ones. I counted at last 4 motor cato’s, mostly E12s, and E9s, I may have missed 1 or 2. We had a couple troops of scouts who were going for … Continue reading →

Monroe Astronautical Rocket Society - MARS Club Posted on August 20, 2019 by MARS ClubSeptember 1, 2019

by Mike Pleban For those that braved the weather forecast on Saturday, you know that we flew for a few hours, then stopped around noon because rain was coming!! Boy did It rain and rain until about 1:30, although it did clear up most everyone had already left and the field was a bit mushy! Sunday the weather was a lot better, plenty of sun very calm wind but it was quite warm and muggy, you needed to drink plenty water. Although the winds were perfect it was just to … Continue reading →

Monroe Astronautical Rocket Society - MARS Club Posted on July 27, 2019 by MARS ClubSeptember 26, 2019

by Mike Pleban, MaryBeth & Bill Clune photos by Rick Cornell Our July launch was very special, it marked the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing. NAR requested all its Sections to schedule a launch that day to commemorate that amazing accomplishment! In order for us to be able to do this, we had the privilege to share the field with the Flying Aces a “free flight” model airplane event much like NSL. What a great way to see and share our hobby with other hobbyists and  visa … Continue reading →
